Ivan Vladimirovich Fedotov, Associate Professor at the Department of Physical Problems of Materials Science of the Institute of Nuclear Physics and Engineering, spoke about the main methods of 3D printing: FDM, SLA, SLS and Binder Jetting.
Particular attention was paid to bioprinting, specifically the principles of creating structures from living cells and biocompatible materials. Recent advances in printing tissues and organ scaffolds were discussed, as well as potential applications of this technology in regenerative medicine, pharmacology and personalised treatment.
The lecture showed that developing new medical solutions requires combining knowledge from different fields: materials science, engineering and biology.
Many thanks to Ivan Vladimirovich for the lecture, and to the engaged schoolchildren for their questions and active participation!
